Position Summary: The State Reporting Analyst for Behavioral Health & Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services ensures accurate, timely, and compliant submission of all state-mandated reports related to behavioral health programs. This role supports data-driven decision-making by maintaining high-quality reporting standards, closely monitoring mental health regulatory requirements, and partnering with program managers, clinical staff, and compliance teams. The analyst will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and transparency in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Collect, validate, and analyze program and service delivery data to meet mental health reporting requirements for state and federal agencies, including DHCS, Medi-Cal, & SAMHSA.Prepare and submit comprehensive, error-free reports within specified deadlines, ensuring alignment with state mental health regulations and guidelines.Partner with clinical, administrative, billing, and quality improvement teams to ensure data integrity and appropriate documentation across departments.Stay informed and monitor changes to state and federal regulations affecting mental health reporting (e.g., Medi-Cal, DHCS, SAMHSA standards) and recommend procedural updates as needed to maintain compliance.Design and develop reporting templates, dashboards, and tracking tools to support program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in reporting data and work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to develop corrective action plans.Prepare datasets and documentation for audits, site visits, and program evaluations by regulatory agencies, ensuring readiness and complianceMaintain detailed standard operating procedures for reporting workflows and assist in the development of staff training on reporting best practices and standards.Translate complex reporting requirements Into accessible guidance for team members. Act as a liaison between the organization and state agencies regarding reporting standards and updates.Ensure successful transmission to state reporting systems; reconcile and troubleshoot error reports returned by the state, Partner with system engineers to ensure there is effective data validation and reporting logic. Conduct root cause analysis for persistent data reporting Issues; recommend systemic fixes to prevent recurrence. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to organizational success.BACKGROUND CHECK ELIGIBLE DUTIES
This position will have access to various applications that house confidential information, including county records, employee demographic and private behavioral health information; ensure that access is used responsibly, maintaining the integrity and security of systems while preventing accidental or malicious misuse.
QUALIFICATIONS – An acceptable equivalent combination of education, experience, and skill will be considered. 
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably In Public Health, Health Information Management, Statistics, Public Administration, or related field. Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or similar credential is a plus.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE  2–5 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or public Behavioral Health & SUD Services with a focus on data reporting, analytics, and compliance.Experience working with Medi-Cal, DHCS, SAMHSA or other CA-based reporting systems      performing analytical and audits. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions satisfactorily. SENSORY DEMANDS - The incumbent must spend long hours in concentration. The incumbent must also spend long hours on the computer entering information which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
MENTAL DEMANDS - There are several deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant pressure. The incumbent must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.
REGULAR WORK SCHEDULE – Varies depending on business needs; however, the company's normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.


Salary Description

$75,000-$95,000 annually
