Description: Are you looking to build a robust career in accounting with a focus on tax? Join our dynamic Tax Team as a Staff Level Tax Associate! In this role, you will gain valuable experience and understanding of accounting processes through hands-on work. We are seeking a highly organized individual who can multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Your responsibilities will include preparing basic tax returns, conducting research, and developing critical thinking skills to generate potential solutions to present to your supervisor. Responsbilities Prepares simple returns for a variety of entities and estimated tax for individuals and corporations Manages work flow by meeting budget guidelines for return preparation Understands and uses Firm's process software and related products Understands standards of conduct guiding tax preparer behavior (AICPA Statements, Circular 230 and Firm Standards) Recognizes basic features of IRS audit structure and appeal process Researches questions that arise during tax return preparation that can be resolved using the Master Tax Guide and IRS publications Understands tax and AMT rules for individual returns Recognizes and applies the difference between financial and tax accounting to properly prepare schedule M for C Corporation Understands the advantages and disadvantages of S Corporation; understands the concept of AAA and flow through of items to shareholders Understands the tax-reporting issues including guaranteed payments, self-employment tax and reporting of partnership income; understands the basic concepts of allocating profit and loss Participates in debriefing Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required CPA license or EA a plus 1+ years experience in an accounting role or equivalent Must possess above average computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in written format. A strong command of the English language and grammar is necessary Must be available to work professional hours between 9am and 5pm, and additional hours as needed.
