Sr. Security Cyber Engineer
for our premier client in
. This is a
full-time, direct hire
position in the
insurance industry.

The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and securing our systems and data from potential threats or compromise. You will provide leadership to security engineering staff and guidance to less experienced members of team. Lead security-related projects and efforts to secure the enterprise. You will also provide cyber security engineering and design functions of Enterprise Security team, involving various tools and capabilities, consulting with other teams on security solutions, installing and building of security tools, and ensuring maintenance and overall health of security solutions.

Education and Experience »
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Security or related field OR equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience
Must possess an active certification or obtain one of the following within 6 months of hire: Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Assurance Certification Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), or more advanced certification
6 or more years of experience in Information Systems performing security engineering with a focus on application, networking, endpoint, server/virtualization, identity and access management, data or cloud security OR a combination of relevant experience and demonstrated ability to meet Information Systems Career Ladder Competencies, which include Focus, Leadership, Design/Analysis, Support/Implementation, Strategy, Budget, and Analytic Ability
1 or more year of experience mentoring or leading staff
Experience developing project plans for security-related projects
Proven experience regarding front-end architecture and design of technical solutions in the DLP space.
DLP operational experience - have implemented DLP, understanding expressions, analysis, policy drivers, and rules. McAfee DLP preferred.
Experience with vulnerability assessment tools like Nessus.
Experience with SIEMs like QRadar.
Deep technical understanding of threat-based approach to testing tool effectiveness.

Possesses the ability to translate technical security concepts into layperson's terms and to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Want to take leadership role in the integration of various security and data protection technologies/controls into a cohesive architecture to sufficiently mitigate risk.

Job Responsibilities »
Perform regular R&D efforts to proactively develop security solutions to support company and mission specifically focused on DLP (Data Loss Prevention).
Support business and IT areas with design of secure technology.
Maintain secure architecture and designs to proactively address security defense and monitoring capabilities.
Evaluate changes to system architecture based on risk and impact to security posture of company.
Develop, build, and support Security infrastructure by maintaining installation, configuration, and ongoing health of security solutions.
Evaluate compliance of new tools and contracts relative to system capabilities and needs.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of applicable government standards and regulations impacting business.
Stay current on industry trends, potential vulnerability, and threat vectors impacting company. Maintain expertise in multiple tools and focus areas impacting IT security.
Manage production issues and incidents and participate in problem and change management forums.
Review and provide guidance for security vulnerabilities in system development life cycle (SDLC) and application development efforts.
Establish core security standards to support and guide organization.
Review and approve standardized processes developed by junior staff in alignment with corporate and government regulations.
Develop system level documentation for security infrastructure, including diagrams and necessary supporting documentation.
Maintain documentation to ensure systems are fully documented.
Assist in development of security architecture and security policies to address any potential security threats and recommend remedial actions.
Mentor others and represent management at times.
Educate and provide guidance to business partners on proper security processes and relevant standards impacting projects.
Provide technical security assistance to clients to help solve business problems.
Take a leadership role on moderately complex projects independently or as part of a larger project team.
