This is a great opportunity to join a $1B revenue publicly traded company Hanger, Inc. (NYSE: HNGR) headquartered in Austin.The Product Accounting Sr. Accountant will report to the Sr. Manager of Product Accounting. As part of the Product Accounting Team this role will be a business partner to Operations and Corporate Accounting supporting monthly accounting close and financial reporting requirements.This candidate needs to be a self-starter, hands-on, detail oriented and possess a result driven mentality. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Monitors and develops monthly reports of Inventory and Cost of Materials (“COM”). Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. Will assist in the setup and execution of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report inventory. Will be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining COM information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations.
Your Impact:
Monthly, quarterly and yearly close process including preparation of journal entries
Consolidation, inter-company transactions and relevant reconciliations
Prepare monthly reporting, analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
External and internal audit activities
Maintain, develop and implement Inventory related accounting Policies and SOPs to support business goals while meeting US GAAP requirements
Perform technical research and document positions in memo’s citing accounting guidance
Maintain and update internal SOX documentation, monitor operational/industry/regulatory changes and develop new processes and policies to accommodate accordingly
Review and enhance analysis and analytical processes and controls
Prepare and send Monthly Financial Review file for different business units
ERP implementation team member
Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Five (5) years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- OR -
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Three (3) years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility obtained within a large public accounting firm auditing for profit public companies
CPA preferred
MBA preferred
Big Four Experience preferred
Additional Success Factors:
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Advanced-level experience using Excel, including the ability to work with complex tables and look-ups
Analytical and problem solving skills with excellent verbal and written skills
