We are currently seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to support the Air Force Total Ownership Cost (AFTOC) Program. This position can be served through any of the following locations: Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah; Dayton, Ohio; or Arlington, Virginia.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The National Security Business Unit is an element of the Contract Research business within Battelle providing support to the US Air Force via the AFTOC Decision Support System. We are seeking a candidate that will help administer MS SQL Server databases in an Azure IaaS/PaaS environment. The candidate should also possess T-SQL development skills to create, maintain, and optimize ETL processes and SQL scripts for enhancing and automating the data production process. The candidate should understand IT and business processes to make well-reasoned design decisions to support business rule changes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Data warehouse architecture implementation and administration
T-SQL script optimization, database tuning, and backup/restore functions
Analyzing data architectures and backend data stores
Understanding database concepts and data structures, including an understanding of dimensional data modeling and OLAP
Developing Star Schema relational datasets to support reporting requirements
Evaluating source data and data processing business rules for anomalies and research root cause/solutions as necessary
Supporting the Program Management Office (PMO) and/or users to address their data requests, questions, and concerns
Evaluate existing and future DoD source data systems for use in data processing, integration, and reporting
Coordinate, collaborate, and support the remote AFTOC production team
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in an engineering/technical field with at least 5 years of applicable experience
SQL Server database administration and data warehouse design experience
Data management and ETL experience in a SQL Server environment
The ability to think, work, and act appropriately with minimal supervision; adjust to changing customer focus/priorities and understand the customer’s intent
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to develop and present key aspects of work in a public forum
The ability to multi-task and use problem-solving and interpersonal skills to accomplish tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
US Citizenship with eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Government security clearance
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED
Experience working in a DoD environment
Experience with deploying and managing data warehouse solutions in an Azure Cloud environment
Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, PowerBI)
