We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tier 1 & 2 SOC leader.
This cybersecurity operations expert will be the key leader of a 24x7x365 SOC team serving VIP customers.
Duties and responsibilities include: Performing day-to-day management of the contractor staff.Perform more detailed operations support alongside legislative staff.Coordinate incident response with security operations staff.Work with senior stakeholders/staff to perform event handling and incident response/messaging.Perform advanced analysis of tier 1 and tier 2 monitoring and alerting conclusions alongside senior legislative operations staff.Create additional training and documentation for the SOC operations.Assist in the development and performance of operational metrics for SOC operations.Oversee the development and performance of quality control checks for SOC operations.Work with stakeholders to address ad hoc taskings as they arise.Interact with other stakeholders for troubleshooting/content development, which could include other members of Cyber Security, the networking team, systems administrators, technology support partners, etc.Specific Daily/Weekly Tasks include: Perform and manage review of all help tickets, cross training of team personnel, process refinement/improvement, and mentoring of Tier 1 & 2 staff.Perform and mentor SOC staff on performing triage/root cause analysis of all security events.Ensure regular continuous monitoring of events across all platforms, databases, and systems.Oversee monitoring/maintenance of daily tasks such as IP/domain/protocol blacklists/whitelists.Perform and manage workload prioritization and proper escalation IAW Ops Plan and Procedures.Assist in development and attainment of quality metrics and compliance with recurring QCs.Identify and coach Tier 2 staff on new data sources, processes and refinements to review of security events data logs.Take lead in articulating current status of IT security metrics, actions, trends.Required Qualifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.3 - 5 years' experience working with Federal IT organizations/stakeholders in legislative branch.Demonstrated deep technical level experience supporting security network defense and strategies.Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.Technical, not academic, mastery of the current threats and tactics being used to attack systems.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all members of the House community; to include non-technical end users, regionally dispersed system administrators, and Cyber Security leadership.U.S.
Citizenship is required.Some travel within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.Desired Qualifications: Previous experience managing SOC for Federal agency.Strong knowledge of industry and/or public service practices.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, calm under pressure, excellence in triage prioritization.Strong organizational and project management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).Experience with trouble ticketing systems and leading cyber threat alert monitoring tools.Splunk certification highly desired.Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in a technical or managerial related discipline or related field.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to maintain SECRET clearance, TS/SCI is preferred.
*This position is contingent on contract award to Gunnison Consulting Group.
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
Gunnison Consulting Group's total compensation package also includes bonus and profit-sharing opportunities, depending on company and employee performance.
