The Red LAN system is a state of the art "Cross Domain" information system used by our U.S. Space Force customer to distribute Space Domain Awareness (SDA) data. This position is assigned to the Space Based Space Surveillance/Red LAN Engineering Manager and reports directly to the lead engineer responsible for Red LAN technical execution. The successful candidate will help to execute and coordinate activities on this fast paced and ever expanding program.
Position Responsibilities:

Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Create and manage project schedules and ensure efficient use of technical resources (Sys admin, Software, SE, DBA, QA)
Coordinate resources, procedures and timeline for build, test and installation events
Manage COTS SW version updates, COTS SW licenses and analyze dependencies. Manage small scale software development and test cycles
Perform detailed technical document reviews and push documents through the review and release cycles
Ensure internal and customer approvals are in place and documented. Negotiate change requests with internal leadership and customer review boards
Manage priorities and improve processes in a small team environment. Write Discrepancy Reports (DR) and push to resolution
Coordinate implementation of quick-turn operational changes. Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Coordinate Information System (IS) security related updates. Manage compliance artifacts and approval documentation. Develop processes for periodic compliance reporting
Respond to rapidly changing customer requirements. Support compliance audits
Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI
Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

2+ years of experience in executing basic Systems Engineering level tasks.
2+ years of experience working in the Aerospace Industry.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Minimum technical Bachelor's Degree
5 years or more engineering experience

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
