Senior HR Representative

Career Opportunity:
The Senior HR Representative is responsible for providing day-to-day HR support and administering essential HR processes for the Evadale Mill and Silsbee Extruder. This position is on the human resources team and is a development role to be a successor for an HR Generalist role. This position reports to the Lead Business Partner HR.
How you will impact WestRock:
Coordinate the hourly hiring process from recruiting to onboarding. This includes screening candidates, scheduling and coordinating interviews, and all other elements involved in hourly recruiting.

Maintain all record keeping related to talent acquisition and selection

Prepare and extend hourly offer letters, conduct post-offer pre-hire screenings, and complete on-boarding tasks required

Coordinate and facilitate orientation for both hourly and salaried new hires

Coordinate the hourly performance review process including the probationary performance review schedules

Maintain all hourly and salaried employee personnel records and required recordkeeping according to record retention policy

Process and maintain all electronic HR records in HRIS, including managing and entering all hourly HR transactions for hires, transfers and terminations

Maintain the union hourly seniority and progression lists

Manage the union hourly bid process and associated tasks

Coordinate the service recognition programs for both hourly and salaried

Manage and administer the hourly attendance program including follow up for execution and elevate as needed

Manage the Hourly Perfect Attendance

Process bi-weekly payroll

Prepare EOM labor hours and accrual reports

Work closely with other HR functions/partners to resolve employee issues

Manage the annual processes as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Support third party benefit administration including FMLA, STD and Unemployment claims

Manage departments purchasing needs

Other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:
Bachelor?s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred.

2-5 years professional experience in a fast-paced environment, providing general HR support is preferred.

Previous HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred

Experience with employee databases, HRIS and/or learning management systems is preferred (PeopleSoft, Cornerstone on Demand, Compliance Pro, Kronos, MS Office products).

Strong verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills

Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities

Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks

Possess drive and initiative to go above and beyond to achieve goals while collaborating in a team environment
