Job Summary
We have an opportunity for aSenior Director, Digital Transformationto join our team in our Richmond, BC headquarters. Reporting directly to, and working closely with, the Sierra Wireless Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Director, Digital Transformation oversees our continued transformation to state-of-the-art digital platforms. These, in turn, support our goal to deliver the best devices, software, and services to accelerate our customer’s data-driven transformation.
You will manage the establishment of innovative and agile technology tools and services, lead company-wide change management efforts, and serve as a central advisor and partner in implementing Sierra Wireless’ strategic technology plans. You possess a rare combination of technical, business, and emotional intelligence, that has been developed through progressive responsibilities and senior-level management experience in a complex IT environment. These skills are amplified by having demonstrated success in leading and managing change in a globally disbursed organization.
Responsibilities
Drive requirements gathering initiatives across all facets of Sierra Wireless’ business
Envision, formulate, and own a convincing digital transformation strategy and roadmap that includes Investment and Return-on-Investment (ROI) proposals
Transpose the digital strategy and roadmap into workable business solutions alongside prioritized timelines
Manage the overall digital transformation program and assemble the right teams that turn plans into tangible deliverables
Tackle ‘immediate priority’ projects for advancements in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and web e-commerce
Articulate the need for computational resources and work closely with the Corporate Information Technology department to provision such resources
Manage the roll-out of digital initiatives across the business community by drawing upon effective change management practices
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
Minimum ten years of progressive senior-level experience in managing parts or all of a complex global Information Technology environment
Proven record of devising strategy with the ability to ‘sell’ proposals to decision makers such as the company’s senior leadership team and/or the Board of Directors
Experience in one or more enterprise platforms such as SAP or Salesforce
Demonstrated knowledge in emerging software and hardware technologies
Ability to collect business requirements, manage cross-functional teams, and drive change throughout the enterprise
Superb oral and written communication skills; finding the ‘right voice’ at any level of the organizational hierarchy
Exceptional interpersonal relationship and team-building skills
Strongest possible commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion
Desired Education, Experience & Competencies
A master’s degree in computer science, information systems/technology, business administration, or other related field
