Position Overview
Senior Director, Area Reimbursement ? Unbranded. This role is responsible for leading the unbranded customer-facing team for BMS Reimbursement Services. The primary objective of this position is to manage daily organization operations of more than 50 field based Access and Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) across five geographically aligned regions. The ARM team is responsible for providing reimbursement support to the Oncology, Hematology, Immunology and Cardiovascular franchises in a consistent and compliant manner.
Within the BMS eco-system, this position will work closely with VAP Strategic Payer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Field Sales, Finance, VAP Account Executive Team, as well as other key internal matrix team partners, external customers, trade associations and critical vendor partners of BMS. This position reports to the Executive Director of Patient Access Support Services.
Core Responsibilities:
Identifies and supports the implementation of Reimbursement and Affordability strategies across the spectrum of approved activities, and ensures that any approved tactics are delivered in a timely fashion
Highly effective communicator that can represent customers? / stakeholders? concerns, priorities, and needs with internal stakeholders, and can develop strategic plans and innovative solutions to meet the client?s needs.
Work across US VAP team to assist with resolution of program escalations as required.
Maintains deep market access and health care policy expertise and can anticipate implications to brands and patient access across therapeutic areas
Lead and maintain a team of motivated leaders by creating and articulating a vision that supports and enables successful achievement of objectives aligned with the PASS mission and vision, along with the broader BMS organization?s goals and objectives
Actively facilitate the growth and development of team members based on their needs, motivation and business requirements
Establish measurable performance parameters and monitor performance against these agreed parameters
Create an environment of continuous learning where team members feel challenged and engaged
Foster team effectiveness within matrix team by sharing knowledge, experience, and information
Develop and execute annual budget with allocation for team members and ensures teams within financial budget
Ability to manage greater than 50% travel.

Candidate Specifications:
Minimum of 15+ years of overall pharmaceutical and/or Healthcare industry experience including experience in:At least 3 years of leading a customer facing field organization and people management,
At least 7 years of experience in claims reimbursement including;Coverage, coding, billing and payment;
working with medical policy, managed care coverage processes and practices;
deep knowledge and working experience with both public and private payers
Acquisition and dispensing of buy and bill medication in an office setting along with the distribution and dispensing of specialty pharmaceuticals;
working with Healthcare Practitioners and ancillary staff in a reimbursement role
and all aspects of patient support/HUB services.

At least 6 or more years cross-functional industry experience in commercial life sciences (pharma or biotechnology) or related industry

Ability to navigate through ambiguous and evolving US healthcare landscape
Strong track record of driving results in a complex internal and external environment
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, with strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Demonstrate capability as an established leader including Enterprise Mindset, Change Agility, Authentic Leadership and Talent Developer
Undergraduate degree required, MBA and/or post graduate degree preferred
