Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our accounting team, supporting financial operations across two plant locations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is integral to providing key performance indicators (KPIs), maintaining pricing and costing, and delivering ad hoc analysis for management. The Senior Cost Accountant will work closely with various departments to support the company's strategic goals and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain and analyze gross margins per product to ensure profitability. Conduct weekly sales reporting and provide trend analysis. Manage and update cost and pricing lists regularly. Visit production floors to understand and align with company processes. Prepare month-end close reports by analyzing various metrics. Develop and maintain KPIs to monitor performance. Analyze return on investment (ROI) for projects and make recommendations. Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business needs. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 10+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with manufacturing or food industry experience. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, policies, and procedures. Willingness to travel 15%-20%. Qualifications: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query and Power Pivot are a plus). Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications and accounting systems. Excellent data management abilities, with a high attention to detail. Demonstrated success in managing projects with precision and focus. Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
