The Senior Business Banker is responsible for accomplishing management's marketing objectives of attracting new business and expanding current business relationships and cross sells all product lines. Designs, develops, and implements solicitation programs to attract new customers in the business community. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Conducts retention and business development calls on existing and prospective clients; arranges meetings between clients and appropriate financial institution representatives. Generates small business loans, deposits and new commercial accounts through active business development.Performs initial analysis on new loan submissions and makes initial approve or decline recommendation. May present requests to management and the Loan Approval Committee when the loan is beyond departmental authority.Assists in portfolio management including the collection of financial information from existing customers, identifies and communicates any signs of potential problem loans and performs site visits as needed.Manages and services accounts within portfolio through timely collection and analysis of financial and other information to ensure ongoing compliance with loan covenants and general credit risk standards.Prepare term sheets and commitment letters and interact with attorneys, etc., in order to prepare for and close loans per the approved loan terms.Develops solid knowledge of market for marketing and portfolio management purposes.Maintains involvement in local businesses and civic organizations in order to promote goodwill, enhances the financial institution's image and develops business within a designated market. Maintains a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered, takes responsibility to keep up to date and request assistance for further development needs.Effectively cross-sells bank products and services.Completes all internal Company training as assigned and required.Adheres to the Company's privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.Exhibits the ability and desire to embrace and enhance the Company culture.Consider this description to be the foundation of your job, not its boundaries.  Expect to participate in internal and external training sessions and activities not described here which enhance the quality of service to the client. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A) in business, finance or related field. Minimum of eight years' work experience in the banking or financial industry. Sales or marketing experience preferred. Basic understanding of financial institution policies and procedures. Good communication, sales and public relation skills. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
