Responsibilities Job Summary
The RN practices guided by ANA standards and the Code of Ethics, applying professional nursing principles to patient care.
Responsibilities include recording medical histories, performing diagnostics, operating equipment, administering treatments, and developing care plans.
The RN educates patients and families, collaborates with healthcare teams, and supports clinical knowledge advancement.
All RN staff caring for stroke patients must be knowledgeable about stroke symptoms, protocols, NIHSS, and related resources.
Collect health data systematically, prioritize based on patient needs, and involve families.
Develop and revise family-centered, evidence-based care plans.Identify expected outcomes and develop individualized care strategies.Implement interventions, treatments, and emergency procedures following policies and standing orders.Evaluate patient progress, document care, and ensure quality and cost-effective outcomes.Maintain current knowledge, evaluate practice standards, and adhere to regulations.Incorporate ethical principles, cultural competence, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Develop evidence-based standards, participate in research, and foster practice improvements.Prioritize safety, effectiveness, and resource utilization in patient care planning. Qualifications Education
Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
All staff caring for stroke patients must meet specific education requirements.
All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months or have 10 years of RN experience.
Graduate from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution.

Experience
>10 months in med-surg or acute specialty settings required
1 year RN experience required for all float positions
Licenses and Certifications
RN licensure in Arizona or a compact state required
BLS certification required
Additional specialty certifications as required by the unit.
