This position will provide commercial and contract support services to Marathon Petroleum Companys (MPC) Marine Division located in Catlettsburg, KY. Candidates must be dynamic self:starters who are able to work independently as well as collobratively, are results oriented and driven by continuous improvement and learning. The objective of the role is to develop and execute commercial strategies and regional sourcing solutions associated with the daily operations of the Marine Division.

Additionally, the qualified candidate will identify and manage business partner and supplier relations, prepare proposals based on value generation, analyze and develop commercial business cases, negotiate with suppliers, and administer contractual and commercial transactions in accordance with Global Procurement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

:Optimize spend for goods and services as directed.
:Manage open purchase order report/expedite as required.
:Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
:Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
:Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
:Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
:Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
:Assist in invoice, vendor, and purchase order issues as it relates to service and material purchases. Research purchase orders and invoices, obtain spend data and maintain all relevant data and documents in contract document database.
:Manage customer and supplier relations and expectations to maximize value creation.
:Negotiate and draft commercial documents which include, but not limited to contracts/agreements, job orders, scopes of work, amendments, change orders and purchase orders in accordance with Global Procurement, Legal, Corporate Risk, Tax, and Audit as well as technical experts.
:Identify improvement to business processes, contract templates and participate in change initiatives across the organization. Maintain focus on continuous improvement, continuous learning and application of new technology.
:Prepare bid packages for various projects, monitor bid progress, prepare bid analyses, and assist with final award decision.

Qualifications

:Education: Bachelors Degree Required : Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance
:Computer Proficiencies: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, ideally SAPs ECC, SRM and CLM
:Certifications: C.P.S.M., APICS preferred.
:Work Experience: Candidates having a minimum of 2 years in a commercial buying or supply chain role is preferred. Ability to negotiate commercial agreements as well as familiarity with contracts and commercial terms, ability to draft solid contractual agreements, project management and economic analysis is preferred. Marine and/or Oil and Gas Industry experience is a plus.
