Founded in 2013, we are a 250 employee organization focused on improving 3D printing for metal, composite, and plastic parts as well as purpose-built metal & carbon-reinforced materials for strength & nice finishes. Additionally, we offer cloud software for turning drawings into high-strength printing. What we're targeting to hire is a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in the 3D modeling world with an emphasis on printers & furnaces who also has the quality improvement (continuous improvement, kaizen, six sigma) background to help push our products to the next level!
What You Will Be Doing
1) Responsible for the manufacturing quality and performance of all products including printers, furnaces & other systems
2) Build a strong relationship w/ contract manufacturers (CM) and critical sub-tier suppliers while working closely w/ internal engineering & operation teams
3) Technical point-of-contact with CMs and oversee day-to-day activities at CMs & critical sub-tier suppliers to ensure they are meeting expectations
4) Ensure project alignment & success throughout product life-cycle
5) Lead & coordinate continuous improvement projects to reduce errors, increase productivity and drive improvement culture with CMs
6) Report manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ops/eng leaders and to senior management
7) Perform value analysis & value engineering (VAVE) activities, lead Kaizen events & create value stream maps for key processes Identify
8) Mitigate project/products risks & perform cost analysis
What You Need for this Position
1) Bachelors in engineering (Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred)
2) 3+ years related product-based electromechanical experience
3) Strong manufacturing and continuous improvement background
4) Experience working & communicating w/ contract manufacturers and suppliers
5) Proficient in Solidworks, 3D modelling of tooling and fixtures and GD&T
6) Experience w/ change control systems (EPDM, Github, ERP and PLM systems) - this is a plus
7) Direct time studies to create baselines & identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings
8) Experience w/ production best practices i.e LEAN, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma Experience with QMS (aerospace and/or medical robotics) - this is a plus
9) Willingness to travel 10-20% both domestically & internationally (when safe)
