Provides trauma-informed, evidence-based/informed diagnostic and therapeutic treatment services to children, adolescents and families. Provides clinical consultation and education to trainees, colleagues, referring providers, and community. Conducts all work to optimize patient/client and family experience, well-being and /outcomes/recovery, collegiality, collaboration, and advancement of the field of psychology.

Understands the principals of trauma informed care and provides trauma informed services to patients/clients, families, and team.
Understands and satisfies the needs of the neonatal, infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age, adolescent and adult patients in regards to their growth and development processes.
Provides psychological evaluation, crisis intervention and follow¿up care as needed, individual psychotherapy, family therapy and group therapy.
Provides psychological consultation to Mental and Behavioral Health team(s), other staff and faculty members of Children's Hospital, and other clinical and community partners as appropriate.
May provide consultation/liaison and clinical services to medical specialty teams within outpatient clinics and/or inpatient units (Health Psychologists).
This may include on-call rotation with pager.
Strongly encouraged to supervise training of psychology graduate students and post-doctoral interns and/or temporary oversight to unlicensed psychologists until they become licensed.
May provide psychological testing to assess cognitive ability, personality, and/or developmental deviations.
May provide in-service training to related professions such as psychiatry residents/fellows, pediatric trainees, nursing students and social work students.
May pursue research and stimulate research among staff.
Manages pre-authorizations and other insurance requirements in a timely manner.
As a measure of client/patient access to care, effectively manages schedule to meet or exceed the clinical billable productivity minimum benchmark and meet client scheduling needs.
Provides liaison service with community agencies and other mental health providers relative to the treatment and evaluation of patients.
Participates on various committees and attends psychotherapy and diagnostic conferences concerning patient/client cases, treatments, etc.
Knowledgeable about current literature and pursues skill advancement and continuing education within pertinent clinical/research areas.
Encouraged to obtain certifications and/or specialized training in evidence-based or informed therapies.
Maintains clinical records in a state useful for review of patient cases and informative to other professionals who may access the data, and in compliance with legal standards.
Conducts professional activities in a manner consistent with APA ethical code of conduct.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must have a PhD or PsyD in psychology from an APA accredited program. Must have completed postdoctoral supervision hours per licensing requirements for the state of WI. APA accredited internship preferred, Formal postdoctoral training preferred.
Education and training to include psychodiagnostic and therapeutic techniques in developmental psychology, personality theory, behavior modification and psychopathology as well as training in research methodology. Requires a State of Wisconsin license.
Requires a comprehensive understanding of all psychological procedures normally acquired during one to two years of experience in evaluating and treating children, adolescents and families.
Physical activity required: 0-25%: reach overhead, lift/carry, push/pull, squat/bend/kneel, climb, stand, walk/move; 26-75%: sit.
Child and adolescent mental health clinic conditions. Employees may:
Be exposed to bodily fluids (e.g. tears, saliva, blood).
Encounter distressing patient stories/traumas that require provider resilience.
Need to crawl on floor or engage in play-type activities with children in therapy.
Need to verbally de-escalate upset children, adolescents, or adults.
Some positions may involve work in community or school settings.
Must be able to work some evenings, possibly weekends.
Some travel may be required.
