Salary Range: $295,000 - $367,000 per year
DescriptionJob Summary: Performs patient care focusing on individual differences, abnormal behavior, mental disorders, and their prevention and improvement of patient lifestyles.
This is achieved through counseling and psychotherapeutic services.
Serves as a consultant to other healthcare staff.
Works with patients exhibiting problems related to intellectual function, biological, emotional, psychological, social, and behavioral maladjustments, disabilities, distress, and mental disorders.Capable of performing psychological assessments, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation for patients of all ages, from adolescents to the geriatric population.Possesses knowledge of psychotherapy theories and methods.Demonstrates understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.Provides counseling to individuals, families, groups, and couples.Administers psychological tests.Supervises other department members, including psychological technicians, biofeedback technicians, and students.Actively participates in research studies.Collaborates with other disciplines for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.Performs crisis intervention.Engages professionally with patients and families, involving them in treatment planning and education.Ensures all patient care aspects are performed in an environment that promotes safety and minimizes errors.Supports a culture of safety and quality.Maintains documentation according to current standards and policies.Shows flexibility and organization in stressful situations.Respects patients' cultural beliefs, provided they do not pose a danger.Maintains good working relationships within the department and with other departments.Seeks supervision and consultation as needed.Adheres to professional standards, ethical principles, and legal requirements in clinical practice.Stays updated with developments in clinical psychology through continuing education, training, and professional involvement.Professional Requirements: Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.Completes annual education requirements.Maintains regulatory compliance.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Reports to work punctually and completes assigned work timely.Wears identification during duty; uses the computerized punch system correctly.Completes in-services and returns them promptly.Attends scheduled staff meetings and reviews minutes.Represents the organization professionally.Participates in performance and quality improvement activities.Complies with organizational policies on ethical practices.Communicates the facility's mission, ethics, and goals effectively.QualificationsRegulatory Requirements: Doctorate from an accredited professional psychology program; licensed or certified as a psychologist per state requirements; board certified in Clinical Psychology by the ABPP.
Language Skills: Effective communication in English (verbal and written); additional languages preferred.
Skills: Basic computer proficiency.
