Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental DisabilitiesPsychiatrist - Admissions - Variable Hourly - Board Certified (GRHA)The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Hourly Psychiatrist at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.
Candidates should be Board Certified in Psychiatry with a career interest and/or experience in public hospital psychiatry.
In conjunction with a comprehensive treatment team, the Psychiatrist addresses the clinical needs of Adult and Forensic consumers and provides emergent assessment and treatment to patients during off hours.
The Psychiatrist will also review referrals received from outside facilities to screen for appropriateness for admission to GRH/Atlanta and provide medical care to inpatients when needed.
The hours vary from 5:30 PM to midnight and/or 8 AM-8 PM or 8 PM-8 AM and include weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and NeurologyExperience in treating persons with serious and persistent mental illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment teamExperience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, forensic psychiatryCompleted Residency in PsychiatryBoard Certified as a practicing Psychiatrist.FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
