Definition of Class 13; This position provides programmatic oversight for Jumpstart sites throughout the State of Mississippi. The incumbent oversees statewide programming, supervises college student volunteers, serves as a liaison to Jumpstart National staff, makes recommendations regarding staffing and program needs, ensures effective execution of initiatives, communicates priorities and provides technical assistance to site managers at institutions of higher learning throughout the State of Mississippi.

Examples of Work Performed 13;
:Oversees statewide programming implementation, including literacy curriculum, family engagement, community events and volunteer program components.
:Coordinates coaching, mentoring and assessment activities of Jumpstart sites to ensure quality is measured and implementation is consistent.
:Leads training related to JumpStart National systems, processes, procedures and best practices.
:Reviews programmatic data to assess opportunities for innovation, improve effectiveness and efficiency of the program, and make recommendations regarding staffing and program needs
:Conducts site visits for observation and data gathering in order to provide support and feedback pertaining to staff needs and program delivery.
:Participates in grant application processes and other issues related to National processes and procedures for Mississippi Jumpstart.
:Oversees statewide material management by overseeing inventory, purchasing and distribution of program materials for all Jumpstart sites within Mississippi.
:Serves as lead site manager by ensuring that Jumpstart site managers meet national program deadlines.
:Coordinates state:wide communication with site mangers, staff and IHL faculty members, and assists site mangers with solidifying partnerships as preschool facilities to serves program partners.
:Provides site managers with resources, strategies and feedback for recruitment of Jumpstart Corps members.
:Participates in Jumpstart national meetings, training sessions and special assessment projects, including statewide data collection and reporting.
:Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Essential Functions 13;

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

:Provides programmatic oversight for all Jumpstart sites throughout the State of Mississippi
:Provides mentoring and support for Jumpstart site managers, staff and IHL faculty members.
:Communicates national program priorities to ensure alignment and effective execution of priorities.

Minimum Education/Experience 13;

Masters Degree from an accredited four:year college or university.


Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.

Substitution Statement:

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
