This position is located in Sulphur, LA I. BASIC FUNCTION
Provide administrative and logistical support to CBC Procurement and TSG in the Sulphur, Louisiana area.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Procurement Support
Responsible for all Shipping and Receiving material out of the Warehouse
Tracks boat supplies in the companies Procurement software
Upon request from Operations/Purchasing, arranges shipments to and from third party locations
Responsible for Warehouse Inventory Supports barge and boat maintenance inventory efforts across the fleet
Arranges repair of material returned to warehouse by selecting repair vendors, cross-referencing quotes, and arranging pick-up or delivery to vendor’s facility
Arranges hot shot deliveries for emergency and critical needs shipments
Operate warehouse machinery including but not limited to forklift, bobcat and overhead crane
Load and unload delivery trucks
Delivers supplies as needed
Supports buying and general maintenance for the facility
Monitors company vehicles based at the site
B. Administrative Support
Provide telephone and other administrative support to the Sulphur facility
Maintain Sulphur office, including ordering and tracking office supplies
Assist with coding of expense reports and invoices
Monitor, coordinate and maintain office utilities, equipment, and physical plant with the New Orleans Office
Perform other duties as required and directed by management
Carry out the Business Philosophy, Code of Conduct, and mission of Canal Barge Company
C. Tankerman Services Group (TSG) Support
D. Barge Maintenance Support
IV. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Must have the ability to work productively without supervision.
Experience in inventory, shipping, and receiving functions or equivalent education preferred
Experience in operating warehouse equipment preferred
Purchasing and logistics coordination experience preferred Marine industry experience preferred Proficiency in computer and clerical duties (email, web-based software, adobe, office)
Good interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
Minimum high school education
