Hennepin Healthcare, in conjunction with the University of Minnesota/Fairview, is seeking a head and neck cancer surgeon with microvascular reconstruction experience (split to be 0.3-0.4 FTE with UMN/Fairview, 0.40 FTE with Hennepin Healthcare).
Our team of three General Otolaryngologists, one Head and Neck Surgeon, two Facial Plastic Surgeons, and three Physician Assistants provides care to patients of all ages in our downtown Minneapolis Otolaryngology Clinic and Brooklyn Park Community Clinic.
Our clinic, opened in 2018, is state-of-the-art with flat screens, scope towers, and microscopes in every exam room.
This academic Otolaryngology practice involves caring for a large and very diverse patient population with a focus on educating Otolaryngology residents from the University of Minnesota.
In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Hennepin Healthcare Position Highlights Ample opportunity for research through the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute.Clinical care includes predominantly head and neck cancer ablation/reconstruction, microvascular free tissue transfer reconstruction, endocrine surgery, as well as some expectations to see general otolaryngology and facial trauma patients.Staff inpatient consults seen by the resident service.Perform surgery approximately one day per week on an elective basis.Train, mentor, and supervise University of Minnesota otolaryngology residents, medical students, and clinical support staff, as appropriate.Participate in the general ENT/trauma call pool, approximately Q7 (1/2 non-trauma, 1/2 trauma).Qualifications Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota or be eligible for licensure.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.Fellowship and board certification or eligible in head and neck surgery and microvascular reconstruction.If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency.Current D.E.A.
