Position SummaryThe Division of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Data Scientist for an Open Rank, Fixed-Term, Tenure or Tenure Track or Variable Track Faculty appointment.
The position will be full time and responsibilities will include the ability to conduct independent research, collaborate with other faculty, and serve as a mentor to cardiology fellows.
Training and expertise in clinical psychology with an interest in, and licensing for, seeing patients in clinic who could benefit from talking to a health psychologist is a plus.
The ability to help build services around patient education and engagement is also a plus.
The expectation is that at least 80% of time will be spent on research with up to 20% of time spent on clinical activities.
Applicants are expected to have a track record of being funded, or to have the strong potential to compete for external funding.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
A demonstrated track record of developing collaborative working relationships is required.
A national profile is also a plus.
Position rank and track (fixed term vs. tenure track vs. variable track) is dependent upon applicant qualifications and experience.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsMS, MA, MD or PhD degree.
Track record in publishing original research and ability to handle large databases.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and ExperienceClinical Psychology licensure; experience in cardiovascular behavior medicine; ability to obtain external research funding.
