Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Office Assistant for our Normal, IL facility.

Responsibilities

Handle management of all credentialing of Chestnut Health Systems staff. Communicate and maintain a log of all discussions with managed care companies, and all other duties associated with staff credentialing.
Coordinate the Medicaid certification of need process for Chestnut Health Systems, including communicating with outside vendors for signatures.
Answer questions regarding the managed care program and policies.
Collect and analyze data on managed care demographics, preferences and needs to identify potential contracts.
Review and audit managed care program to ensure professional standards.
Release information to appropriate agencies according to regulations for purposes of staff credentialing.
Provide administrative support in all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process.
Review information on credentialing applications to verify completeness and accuracy.
Maintain records of applications and verification letters.
Assist Managed Care Supervisor in preparing, reviewing and evaluating contracts for compliance of legality and for profitability if applicable.
Assist Managed Care Supervisor in maintaining insurance and Managed Care contracts.
Assist Accounts Receivable department in setting up and monitoring billing in TIER.
Assist in training new staff when necessary.
Participate in ongoing trainings and/or meetings to stay abreast of changing policies/procedures and any funding or licensure/certification regulations that would apply.
Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.

Qualifications

Position requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a health care or behavioral health care field.
Strong keyboarding skills; to include data entry into a variety of databases.
Knowledge of electronic health record and or electronic billing system is required.
Basic accounting skills required.
Extensive knowledge of office procedures and use of office equipment required (i.e., filing, word processing, ability to operate copier, fax and scanning equipment).
Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel required.
Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and discretion with HIPAA and other confidential information.
Must be able to work independently and manage several tasks at one time.
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse group of people and maintain appropriate working relationships exercising good judgment and discretion.
Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
