Details of the offer

PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITIONPerform secretarial and general office work as it relates to the Outpatient Clinic procedures; assist throughout the center as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork requires frequent standing and sitting and very frequent walking to greet patients and escort to various service areas throughout the hospital (51-80% of work time).

Work occasionally involves moderate lifting of materials or lifting and positioning patients up to 60 lbs, climbing stairs, crouching, kneeling and pushing wheelchairs (6-20% of work time).

Work requires occasional travel to offsite business related trainings and seminars (3-4 times per year).

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSGenerally good working conditions. Work may occasionally involve distasteful patient related activities (6-20% of work time).

Subject to verbal abuse from confused, combative patients, families and visitors.

Must be available to work weekend or rotating shifts (6-20% of work time).

Standard Precautions apply.

High school graduate with medical office training or equivalent experience.

Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.

BLS certification recommended.

Work requires intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills to be able to operate in several applications at once, navigate multiple softwares and manipulate files. Must have intermediate to advanced typing skills, experience with 10-key preferred. Work requires intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, email and multiple system charge software.

Work requires interpersonal skills to communicate with team members and a high level of social sensitivity when communicating with patients. Must be compassionate, professional, and empathetic when handling patient complaints and concerns while remaining focused on providing a positive patient experience (more than 80% of work time).

Work requires analytical ability to find solutions to problems. Must be able to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources to identify solutions. Independent judgment is frequently required when clarifying insurance issues, explaining financial responsibilities, and communicating with doctor?s offices. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential, being able to prioritize in a fast paced environmental (51-80% of work time).

Work requires a high level of mental and visual focus requiring mental application and attention to detail. Work is performed under tight deadlines, must possess excellent time management and functional organizational skills to efficiently register patients. Work involves extended time in front of a computer screen (21-50% of work time).
