Medical Director, Inpatient Psychiatry

Job Summary: Establishes and leads the execution of a strategic plan for the division's services, fostering innovation in care delivery, maximizing technology use to improve quality and efficiency.
The Medical Director will oversee providers, faculty, residents, and clinicians within their division to optimize patient care, support research, and provide educational programs.
Job Duties:
Functions as the Medical Director of Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast.Provides leadership, planning, organization, staffing, coordination, and evaluation for the division.Collaborates with clinical, administrative, and finance leaders to establish budgets for staffing, clinical, research, and education programs.Acts as liaison with department administration and hospital platforms to promote innovative care, teaching, and research.Supervises and evaluates division physicians and advanced practice providers.Responsible for quality improvement efforts within the division.May oversee residency or fellowship programs.Ensures compliance with department, accreditation, and regulatory standards.Participates in facility-related meetings, departmental meetings, and governance activities.Handles credentialing, privileging, performance management, recruitment, staff engagement, and collaboration with other divisions.Reports to the Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry.Manages contracts with providers and community relations.Attends safety, quality, and utilization management meetings.Work Environment: Typically performed in clinical and office settings.
Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures.

Position Details:
