Medical Clown Program Assistant (Administrative Assistant I)Temporarily Remote due to ongoing COVID-19 PandemicPart-Time/10-15 hours per week$20.81-$22.81/per hourUSC School of Dramatic ArtsThe USC School of Dramatic Arts seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant to join its Medical Clowning Program within its Institute for Theatre & Social Change. We are looking for an energetic colleague to support all efforts relating to the daily operations of the Medical Clowning Program and other tasks related to our recently formed and fast-growing Institute for Theatre & Social Change (ITSC).Reporting to the lead faculty in the Medical Clowning Program and collaborating with USC Keck School of Medicine and USC School of Social Work, an individual in this role will show a history of success in setting goals and completing projects with a high degree of independence while exercising good judgment. environment, especially during peak times of the year.The individual in this role will coordinate, implement, and provide administrative support for projects and activities related to the Medical Clowning Program such as scheduling, researching community outreach programs and conference opportunities, and developing communication and promotional materials. This position will also lead fundraising and donor relations for the program as well as steward donors under the direction of the Associate Dean of Advancement.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Background in performance (theoretical or practical) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other applicable administrative/office toolsSkills: Strong interpersonal skills Communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with a diverse population of staff, faculty, students, donors and vendors Prioritize tasks to complete different projects with various deadlines Possess self-motivation and complete tasks with minimal supervisionPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities: Manages scheduling and coordination of clowns for virtual clowning program Research community outreach programs and executes on program details involving the medical clowning program Searches for and applies for various conference and speaking engagements Identify new board members Develop promotional materials in collaboration with the School's marketing team Manage ITSC Board scheduling and events Research funding sources including corporate and foundation directories to determine whether they are strong prospects for the program or department. Identify potential new prospects Steward donors of Medical Clowning Program including touchpoints and annual reporting Designs and creates communication vehicles, tools, strategies for enhancing and extending communication for the program Assist in annual budget program creation and management Coordinate and assist with planning special program related fundraising events Coordinate Medical Clowning & ITSC Board meetings, including agendas, special guests, etc.
Updates ITSC website with new program developments, events & news Develop direct mailing and social media messages Update all collateral such as one-sheets, stories etc.The University reserves the right to add or change responsibilities at any time.Additional Information:The USC School of Dramatic Arts, founded in 1945, is recognized internationally as a leader in theatre education.
