Position Snapshot

The Materials Manager at US Ecology provides a range of 3rd party waste disposal and recycling options for materials that will not be processed at a US Ecology TSDF or service center. The Materials Manager reviews waste profiles and related documents to provide customers safe and compliant environmental solutions while minimizing operational costs and driving income.

Day in the Life

After booting up your computer and grabbing your favorite morning beverage, you can expect to:

Follow up on outstanding tasks, emails and requests

Review waste profiles to ensure environmental compliance.

Identify potential waste stream problems and suggest alternative treatment and/or recycling options for customers.

Re-certify US Ecology waste streams at various 3rd party locations.

Support sales with 3rd party pricing for bid opportunities and other customer requests.

Negotiate rates with vendors when applicable to increase profitability.

Provide technical support to various departments.

What you need to apply

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in the waste characterization principles and practices

Knowledge of RCRA as it relates to waste characterization and waste processing protocols preferred.

Knowledge of the MS Office Suite with proficiency using Excel.
