The Marketing Director for heart failure is a meaningful role for Amgens Bone and Cardiovascular Business Unit. The Marketing Director is responsible for maximizing the value of omecamtiv mecarbil, a novel, selective cardiac myosin activator for heart failure being developed by Amgen in partnership with Cytokinetics. You will drive the development and implementation of the US launch and will be responsible for healthcare provider and patient engagement strategy and delivery of marketing tactics across channels. You will develop teams, manage advertising agencies, and allocate resources across the marketing mix to enhance return on investment.

Key responsibilities include:

Develop the healthcare provider strategy for launch of omecamtiv mecarbil, an exciting, first:in:class therapy
Define and implement HCP marketing plan and promotional channels based on a deep understanding of customers, marketplace, competitors, and business drivers
Customize marketing messages and needs to distinct HCP customer segments
Translate US market and competitive insights into commercial and product strategy
Develop and execute the launch plan, including sales force go:to:market strategy and approach
Assess the opportunity to thoughtfully engage and educate consumer (patient) segments
Own the development of consumer marketing strategy and promotional channel selection and allocation
Provide strategic focus and direction for market research plans to generate insights that impact the business
Partner with creative agencies to maximize collaboration and hold them accountable to the highest standards of performance
Deliver breakthrough and impactful creative campaigns across channels and partners
Lead cross:functional teams to gain alignment with internal and external partners both strategically and tactically
Partner with market access team to ensure HCPs and patients can gain access to new therapy
Be the designated lead for marketing assets in the legal/medical/regulatory review process
Oversee marketing and agency budget
Identify and track key performance indicators to assess growth performance at launch and adjust marketing plans as necessary
Build and manage a team of high:performing professionals responsible for launch preparations and tactical delivery of marketing plans
Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience

OR

Masters degree and 6 years of marketing experience

OR

Bachelors Degree and 8 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience with strong marketing and management skills including developing market strategies (segmentation, positioning, key messages, etc.), executing tactics, and responsibility for revenue generation
Ability to understand, interpret and communicate commercial and competitive implications of complex technical/clinical/regulatory data
Ability to lead and motivate a team that is aligned to a common vision and to coach/mentor team members to generate both strong performance and achievement of individual career aspirations
Strong ability to both lead and influence cross:functional teams effectively
Strong communication effectiveness: effectively engage, connect, and influence senior management and the sales and marketing organizations
Ability to translate and communicate complex information/strategies into simple and impactful plans
Agile learner with a demonstrated track record of flexibility to adapt to evolv
