Purpose of Position:

Responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development and execution of Cornings executive communications program. The role includes: supervision of the executive communications team; successful working relationships with key management committee members and other executives, as well as strong collaboration with business and corporate communications colleagues; and strong engagement with corporate narrative, proactive story development, and thought leadership initiatives, all focused on raising the companys reputation through executive visibility and positioning.


:Provide strategic communications support and counsel to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and other members of Cornings Management Committee.
:Develop strategies that enhance the brand/reputation of the company and the credibility of senior executives.
:Lead Executive Communications team to ensure appropriate level of support for senior executives and earn their trust.
:Manage executive participation at major company events (e.g., Investor Days, Annual Meeting of Shareholders, keynote presentations, and other speaking engagements) to ensure compelling content, appropriate level of preparation, and effective follow:through activities.
:Develop broad range of communications material including speeches, scripts, chairmans letter for the annual report, official company statements, customized messages to stakeholders, etc.
:Develop bylined articles and thought:leadership features on behalf of Management Committee for both third:party publications and self:publishing forums (e.g., LinkedIn, Ideas and Insights page).
:Collaborate closely with presentation developers and graphics specialists to create visually compelling executive presentations.
:Identify and leverage new tools and channels to increase the effectiveness of executive communications.
:Develop key messages for diverse stakeholders (e.g., investors, employees, influencers) in collaboration with Management Committee, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications colleagues, and business units.
:Collaborate effectively with colleagues to develop narratives for media interviews and stakeholder engagements.
:Prepare briefing materials and lead in:person briefing sessions with CEO and other members of the Management Committee for key events and stakeholder engagements.
:Engage and collaborate effectively with subject matter experts to understand and advance priorities.
:Coordinate closely with Executive Events team to ensure seamless execution of special events and executive comfort and confidence.

Staff Supervisory Responsibilities and Duties:

Oversee communications staff responsible for: executive speechwriting, presentation development, content visualization, storytelling, narrative development, etc.

:Provide oversight and integrated coordination of key content development and management, in close coordination with colleagues across external communications and the broader communications organization
:Guide / manage contractor or agency personnel in support of identified programs and executive priorities


Bachelors Degree in communications, journalism or related field required plus 5:10 years related experience.
Masters preferred.
Supervisory experience.
Experience working with / advising senior executives.
