DescriptionThe Mission of theIdaho Department of Correction(IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime.

This announcement will be used to fill the current vacancy in Boise, Idaho at the Headquarters office as a Constituents Service Manager/Management Assistant. This position processes inquiries from offender families, legislative offices, and the public. Through a customer-focused approach, the office provides consistent, accurate, and timely information and direction about offenders and the department's policies, procedures, and practices. The office provides regular feedback to department administrators and others so they may remain informed about issues that generate contact from constituents.

The applications may also be used for future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months.

Example of DutiesProvide timely, responsive, and professional response to inquiries from constituents including the Governor's Office, Legislature, advocacy groups, victims, public officials, and the general public
Assist with proper routing of concerns that come via written, telephonic, or person-to-person communication
Knowledge of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and other forms of communication
Perform a variety of administrative duties to enable Division leadership to function more effectively
Perform secretarial or clerical support functions
Interpret, apply, and implement policies and procedures
Resolve complex problems or issues concerning the Agency
Respond to sensitive or controversial issues from staff, people under IDOC?s jurisdiction, and their families

Minimum QualificationsExperience: interpreting and applying regulations, policies, and procedures
Experience planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating special projects
Experience independently researching, compiling, developing, and summarizing material for reports on a frequent or recurring basis
Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for management/administrators

Supplemental InformationDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Good knowledge of IDOC policies and procedures
Ability to identify frequently asked questions and propose written responses which can be shared on our IDOC?s website and via social media
Ability to provide great customer service and remain calm under pressure.
Bilingual skills in Spanish and English

HIRING INFORMATION:
To be hired, a candidate will have a history and background supportive of Department mission goals and will be subject to:Completing a Background Investigation Questionnaire and pre-employment drug testing
Have a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints
Have a history of law-abiding behavior
Felonies, misdemeanors, illegal drug usage, DUI's, adverse driving convictions and employment history may make you ineligible for employment

Non-hiring restrictions are in place for candidates who:Have been convicted of Domestic Violence or similar types of violent behaviors
Have a dishonorable discharge from military service
Currently are using, dealing, or are associated with illegal drugs
Have close friends or relatives under IDOC care & custody where the vacancy exists
Are currently under IDOC supervision or probation (must be released from IDOC supervision or probation for at least one year)
