DescriptionMatching in Ads is a critical component of our Ads funnel, responsible for retrieving relevant and engaging Ads for users.
We are developing the next generation of retrieval systems to support business growth.
We seek a Machine Learning Engineer to develop algorithms for our retrieval system.
This role involves improving outcomes, impacting platform revenue and ad quality, and exploring new product opportunities.
Responsibilities include end-to-end algorithm development—from ideation to production—addressing complex problems in ad retrieval, ensuring privacy compliance, and contributing to state-of-the-art research.
Collaboration across teams is essential, with presentations of findings across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications4+ years of experience in building scalable machine learning capabilities across various product areas.Recognized expertise in NLP, information retrieval, and search.Ability to implement research concepts into production-quality code.Experience in defining testable research hypotheses with clear business impact.Deep understanding of experimental design and online experimentation at scale.Contributions to top conferences/publications in research.Proficiency in Java or Python.Experience with Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed frameworks.Master's degree or equivalent in NLP, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields, with experience in building production systems or large data science projects.Preferred Qualifications7+ years of experience in scalable machine learning across product areas.PhD or equivalent in NLP, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields, with experience in production systems.At Apple, compensation includes base pay within a range, with opportunities for growth.
The pay range for this role is $181,100 to $272,100, depending on skills and experience.
