Responsible for assisting in the supervision and training of team members. Their main responsibility is to assist the payroll clerks with daily questions and tasks. They also communicate regularly with the division HR and Accounting offices. Role model and demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.
Essential Job Functions:

: Assist manager in the supervision of clerical staff.
: Assist manager with tax audits.
: Assist manager in maintaining KERMIT payroll system.
: Assist manager in responding to Kroger Marketing Area (KMA) Controllers, HR Directors, and other Division associates.
: Responsible for verification of time cards in Kronos for Payroll department clerical staff.
: Responsible for coordination of training for new team members.
: Responsible for various period:close functions.
: Serve as a back up to clerks.
: Assist manager with special projects.
: Provide management with status and progress reports.
: Provide feedback to manager on performance reviews of team members.
: Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Minimum Position Qualifications:

: Good verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, division, and store associates. Must be comfortable giving presentations to any size group of people.
: Good written communication skills. Must be able to effectively compose various documents, including memos, letters, proposals, and procedures.
: Highly self:motivated and willing to take initiative. Must be able to effectively complete assigned tasks and special projects independently.
: Excellent people skills. Must interact and cooperate effectively and tactfully with clerical, management, and division staff on a daily basis.
: Independent judgment and sound decision making skills required. Must be able to use discretion as required.
: Must be highly organized and detail oriented and able to function effectively in a multi:task environment.
: Ability to meet strict deadlines.
: Knowledge of accounting systems, processes, and controls.
: Proficiency in Excel and Word.
: Ability to be flexible and commit to the hours the workload demands.
: Ability to travel independently.
: Physical ability to access all necessary files. Desired Previous Job Experience/Qualifications:

: Associates degree in a business or human resource related field of study preferred.
: Human Resource exposure preferred.
: Payroll tax experience.
: Knowledge of KERMIT payroll system.
