We're looking for an object-oriented Senior Software Engineer who takes pride in backend development to contribute to building innovative, scalable applications in pursuit of a great user experience. You'll help develop the next generation of residential products, apps, and services. You'll gain experience in many different areas and have the opportunity to make a real impact to the company and real estate industry.

This position is located in Arlington, VA and is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday.

Responsibilities
Design and develop high performance web applications used by hundreds of thousands of users globally

Design and develop using Object Oriented design principles and software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability

Promote consistent architecture patterns for design and development within and across?Homes?development teams

Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization.

Advocate standards-driven technology

Facilitate discussions among other .NET and database developers to exchange new ideas and improvements

Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field)

A track record of commitment to prior employers

5+ years of production development experience with C#, .NET (or .NET Core) and/or Java

Experience delivering products that meet specifications and performance SLA

Experienced in unit, performance, and automation testing

Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Experience in relational database design (AWS RDS, MS SQL) including performance tuning

Experience with AWS S3, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Apache Kafka and Datadog

A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms
