Role Overview: Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Commercial Partnerships will join our integrated Sales and Marketing teams.
This critical role focuses on growing our customer base and strengthening relationships within academic libraries, research organizations, corporations, societies and government agencies.
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of the publishing industry and existing software solutions. Required Skills: · The ability to self-start and thrive in a remote working environment
· Basic knowledge of academic publishing industry
· Ability to represent the company at international conferences
· Proven ability to manage sales targets, goals and revenue
· Commitment to contributing actively to organizational
· Proficiency and experience in accurately reporting sales activities through a CRM system.
Ideal Candidate Profile: · Motivated by success, with a proactive commercial mindset
· Familiarity with SaaS subscription-based products
· Comfortable handling international sales territories
· Ability to seek, identify and engage decision-makers effectively
· Collaborative team player, comfortable working within a dynamic, distributed global team.
Key Responsibilities: · Build and maintain strong customer relationships, using industry knowledge to promote our SaaS solution
· Prospect and generate new sales leads
· Accurately report, plan and forecast sales activities
· Qualify and prioritize sales opportunities
· Negotiate contracts and agreements effectively
· Engage proactively with customers to enhance retention.
General Responsibilities: · Meet or exceed sales quotas through effective sales strategies and customer engagement
· Gather and communicate competitive market intelligence
· Facilitate customer onboarding and training
· Develop customized proposals tailored to customer needs
· Conduct regular visits to key clients and attend relevant industry events
· Maintain high-quality customer and company engagement via phone, email and virtual-conferencing tools
· Rapidly learn and master new products and sales processes.
Qualifications:
· Proven track record of success in academic or enterprise sales
· Preferred experience in academic publishing markets
· Strong work ethic, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
· Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and CRM/database applications
· Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
· Strategic thinker, adept at competitive selling and relationship-building.
