Amgens Global Commercial Innovation team (the CI team ) is recruiting for a Design Strategy Senior Manager, Oncology located at Amgens corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California. The role involves developing the beyond the molecule experience for people navigating health challenges in the context of their lives. The CI team delivers on Amgens vision of patient:focused, human:centered innovation. The Senior Manager will be responsible for facilitating integration of the patient voice across the product lifecycle :: developing ecosystem experience requirements for multiple prioritized programs. This work involves applying design thinking methods of insight generation and synthesis, ideation and iteration to ensure Amgen therapies meaningfully meet the needs of patients and providers at launch and evolve through life cycle management to improve the customer experience.

The CI team deploys a range of patient voice collection techniques and human:centered design research methods. These generative activities inform a variety of solutions within an ecosystem of care. One of the critical outputs is the translation of needs into commercial requirements, outlining what patients will be willing to adopt and what will be viable in the market.

Reporting to the Director, the Senior Manager helps to define and deliver a Therapeutic Areas (TAs) Global Commercial Innovation strategy, and is responsible for the quality of deliverables for multiple, concurrent projects with critical deadlines, and for ensuring output is meaningful for patients and the business while evolving Design Strategy and Patient Voice capabilities within the larger Global Marketing group.

The role involves communication with a full range of internal partners including global, regional and country functions such as marketing, market research, Office of Commercialization Excellence, operations, R and D, digital, compliance, corporate affairs, and regulatory/legal. The successful candidate will interact with key internal partners that span diverse groups and will define objectives and obtain alignment.

This role will require travel (20 domestic/international), and occasionally communication with colleagues and users outside office hours is expected.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supports and partners with Global Marketing Leads by facilitating Amgens ecosystem solution:building process, from prioritization of insights, through definition and prioritization of problem statements, building and maintaining design strategy roadmaps, and ideation and validation of ecosystems of solutions

Develops beyond the molecule solution:building deliverables in support of the Global Marketing Lead(s): Solution Ecosystem, Design Strategy Map, Design Principles

Provides project management in support of Global Marketing Lead for beyond the molecule solution:building process and outputs

Partners optimally, ensuring smooth transitions from insights partners to internal solution providers, championing the development of beyond the molecule deliverables

Works across Global/Regional/Local market teams (including maintaining repository of brand ecosystems) and contributing to the sharing of findings and best practices across products

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in human:centered design and/or experience in design strategy
OR

Masters degree and 4 years of experience in human:centered design and/or experience in design strategy
OR

Bachelors degree and 6 years of experience in human:centered design and/or experience in design strategy
OR

Associate degree and 10 years of experience in human:centered design and/or experience in design strategy
OR

High school diploma/GED and 12 years of experience in human:centered design and/or experience in design strategy
