Summary The General Manager is responsible for all Philadelphia Port activities related to vehicle processing operations.
This position will coordinate overall activities with Glovis America HQ (GUS), our customers, and their local representatives.
Responsibilities include imported finished vehicle processing and tendering, vehicle subscription services, and rail unloading services.
Proactively identifies, analyzes and resolves problems or issues that may arise with customer, client, or employees.
Responsibilities Establish KPI in conjunction with GUS Club Elite program and monitor overall facility performanceCoordinate facility activities through planning with department managers to ensure facility objectives are achievedReview production and operating reports, and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure efficiency and prevent operational delaysDetermine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectivesPlan, direct and coordinate VPC operations.
Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental operations through effective methods and strategiesProvide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectivesCoordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization, and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipmentImplement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salariesControl and minimize labor overtime, and repair expensesDevelop and maintain manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and imagePlan budgeting - production goals, headcount, asset expense, etc.Coordinate and facilitate positive relationships with customersDevelop and implement process improvement initiativesMonitor & evaluate quality of all processes and procedures of VPC OperationsAnalyze quality data to develop countermeasures to correct process deficienciesCreate and change departmental processes for continuous process improvement activitiesConduct departmental process and safety audits at appropriate intervalsProvide direction to direct reports to perform safety audits and reportsImprove processes and policies in support of organizational goalsMonitor adherence to rules, regulations and proceduresCreate and submit recommendations for changes to the HQ Operations.Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, including HMMA, distributors, and GLOVIS headquartersEnsure frequent and effective communication with direct reports, as well as members of the HQ Operations management teamOther Duties as AssignedCompensation $142,000-$162,000 Per Year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
