General Compounder

Description
Position Purpose:Responsible for mixing any batch type independently in a manner consistent with corporate and manufacturing goals, production schedules, quality objectives, and personnel policies.

Each Aveda employee will actively participate in the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program and is required to follow all safety practices and procedures.

Description of Duties:
Essential Duties:
Complete batches in a timely fashion.
Produce batches of product in a safe manner.
Produce batches passing quality specifications.
Maintain accurate inventory through SAP transactions.
Understand and follow compounding manufacturing procedures.
Use steam and cooling water systems to heat and cool batches.
Prepare extracts, color blends, and aroma premixes.
Proper use of complex processing equipment (homogenizers, shear blenders…, etc.)
Perform tank and pump inspections.

Other Duties:
Verify weighing and documentation accuracy of other compounders.
Assist R&D with Process Development of new products.
Perform sanitation and product transfers.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1-2 years related experience required.

Others: Effective time management skills, good math skills, mechanical aptitude, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, detail oriented, good written and communication skills. Must be able to use all protective and safety equipment.
