This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at the Central Office (Southwood) in the Bureau of Finance and Accounting

Salary Range: 29, : 57,

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is an Administrative Accounting position engaged in the management of the Revenue Account Group related to the Department of Corrections. Management control is achieved through the utilization of the Florida Information Accounting Resource (FLAIR), including subsystems. This position is responsible for contributing to the daily operation of the Revenue Accounting team.

:

Responds to inquiries for information or accounting data for Revenue from staff, vendors, auditors and other internal/external customers.
:

Responsible for timely input of Daily deposits into FLAIR.
:

Responsible for reviewing Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) records including, but not limited to, receivables, deposits, journal transfers, trial balances, etc.
:

Conducts research to resolve any problems identified.
:

Compiles Revenue vouchers files for processing.
:

Responsible for gathering all invoices and readings required for Pride billing.
:

Analyzes financial information related to outstanding balances owed for correctness and completion in preparation for submission to a Collection agency.
:

Responsible for the preparation of the Cell Phone Attestation System monthly reports and notifications to regional contacts.
:

Reviews procedures and recommends changes to accounting procedures and/or assists in the development or implementation of new processes to increase accountability and/or efficiency.
:

Updates and assigns standard pre:established accounting codes and inputs entries in FLAIR as necessary.
:

Analyzes transaction records to determine accuracy and completeness of entries.
:

Prepares journal transfers and correcting entries as necessary.
:

Performs other related duties as required, including special projects.

Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.

Knowledge of accounting systems to include FLAIR.

Knowledge of computer system concepts.

Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
