This position is typically filled at a salary of 35,126.00 annually. Pay commensurate with experience.

About the Job: 13;

To perform preventative maintenance and service on cars and light trucks, heavy duty trucks, aerial lift trucks, paving equipment, excavating equipment, tractors, generators, lawn movers, chain saws, weed eaters, pumps, and other motorized equipment as assigned by supervisor. Test drive state vehicle/equipment and other motorized equipment to ensure proper operation after completion of repairs.

A Day in the Life: 13;
:Supervise other Mechanics on a limited basis;
:Rebuild, replace and/or repair major parts on cars and light trucks, heavy duty trucks, and heavy equipment (e.g., exhaust system, fuel injection, electrical systems, transmission, drive train, mechanical and air suspension, charging systems, air and hydraulic brakes);
:Performs minor repairs or other related mechanical work (e.g., adjusts valves; changes and repairs all types of tires; cleans or replaces diesel injectors; repairs or replaces hydraulic components; ;
:Install snow plow blades and make repairs on damaged plow assemblies;
:Perform minor body repair work;
:Maintain Equipment Management System (EMS) records on parts used and work performed on equipment and orders and/or picks up parts;
:Service and repair of highway equipment in the field; use welding equipment to straighten and fabricate metal;
:Recognize performance issues for both gas and diesel engines and properly diagnose them.
:Inspect vehicles/equipment for damage;
:Snow removal when necessary and other related duties as required (e.g., keep garage area, equipment and tools clean and orderly; mow grass; operate snow plow, tow truck or other equipment; repair mowers and sharpens blades; pump gasoline and diesel fuel and maintain daily records of same;
:Perform service calls on roadside when equipment is disabled.
:Attend appropriate training school, safety meetings, mechanic meetings or related meetings;
:Order and/or pick up parts when required by supervisor;
:Provide service and repair of vehicles and equipment on emergency basis;
:Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.

What We're Looking For: 13;
:High School Graduate or equivalent.

What You'll Need For Success: 13;
:Minimum of three years experience in hydraulic maintenance, diagnostics, and repair;
:Minimum of five years experience in equipment and fleet maintenance;:Extensive knowledge of and ability to use tools associated with vehicle and motorized equipment repair
:Working knowledge of appropriate safety practices associated with repair and maintenance heavy equipment, vehicles and/or motorized equipment;
:Extensive knowledge of heavy and light duty vehicle and equipment repair.
:Extensive knowledge of hydraulics and how do properly diagnosis and repair.
