Northrop Grumman offers a challenging career opportunity in our Operations Electronics & Avionics Engineering team within the Mission Systems sector at ourSalt Lake City, UTfacility. Working in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems means making a direct contribution to mission projects that keep our homeland safe, expanding the boundaries of possibility and reshaping the world we live in. We are seeking anEngineer / Principal Engineerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
Multi-Discipline Engineering role and responsibilities include the following:
• Responsibilities include both Manufacturing and Industrial Engineer disciplines
• Process development for manufacturing of high reliability electronic Circuit Card Assemblies.
• Manufacturing equipment process ownership.
• Development of tooling required for manufacturing.
• Utilize SPC and data to drive process, yield, and cost improvement.
• Define sequence of operations for build instructions.
• Review and approval of Engineering Changes.
• Perform capacity analysis of key production process areas
• Time studies and production labor standard analysis
• Development of process routing and sequence of operations to improve efficiencies.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications below.
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer or the Principal Engineer Level
Typical Minimum Education / Experience-Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters/ BS in an Engineering Discipline or other STEM related technical field.
Typical Minimum Education / Experience-Principal Engineer:5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters / BS in an Engineering Discipline or other STEM related technical field.
Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:
• Able to collaborate in a team environment and negotiate and integrate different viewpoints
• Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result
• Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
• Prior experience with electronic circuit card assembly manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with manual or automated solder processes.
• Advanced data manipulation and analysis experience
• SAP experience.
• IPC Standards/J-STD-001 certification.
• Lean/6sigma training
