Details of the offer

Role: Engineer (Core Services) (System Administrator) Location: Norfolk, VA/ Fulltime onsite

TASKS:

Act as the primary System Administrator for NU, NR and NS AIS systems in the CSU AoR;

Direct and oversee the installation and maintenance of server operating systems and applications related to the delivery of Core Enterprise Services;

Monitor assigned systems and services to ensure availability in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Analyze and troubleshoot performance metrics and suggest service improvement plans (SIPs). Support the creation of SIPs with the goal of increasing service quality and efficiency;

Provide engineering support for the design and implementation of computer security best practices;

Perform detailed engineering analysis and configure NU/NR/NS architectures IAW NCSC guidance;

Support HQ SACT transformation mission with subject matter expertise on computer security, domain architecture, virtualization and other relevant topics;

Lead the ITIL Problem Management process, and contribute to Incident Management, Change Management and Continuous Service Improvement;

Develop and maintain Disaster Response Plans (DRPs) for assigned systems. Test and execute these plans in accordance with the overarching CSU DRP

REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelors degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post:related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by at least 6 years progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of this post.

Experience supporting core enterprise services such as:

ü

System Administration on a large computer network;

ü

Windows and Linux Operating Systems;

ü

Active Directory and Group Policy Management;

ü

Virtualization of servers and desktops;

ü

Use of scripting to automate tasks;

ü

Large scale system management tools, such as SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager)

Experience leading technical teams and managing projects;

Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques;

Knowledge and experience with ITIL Problem Management.
