Then you may be interested in our opportunity as our EHS Specialist at our Horse Cave Manufacturing Facility

In this roll you will; coordinate, maintain, train and provides oversight of environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs at a large facility with 500+ employees.

Day to Day Role

:

Assist EHS Manager in administering EHS programs
:

Assist in developing training and ergonomic programs
:

Deliver EHS training and new hire orientations for one or more of the following: lock out / tag out (LOTO), fire prevention, hazard communications, confined space entry, hearing conservation, EHS policies and procedures, or other training programs
:

Assist in safety incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action
:

Conduct inspections and audits, identify opportunities to improve, and make recommendations to improve or eliminate unsafe conditions or practices
:

Track and maintain appropriate documentation, and complete reports
:

Collaborate with local Human Resources Manager in the administration of Workers Compensation and Early Return to Work Program.
:

Coordinate all hazardous and non:hazardous waste storage, handling, and disposal
:

Ensure procurement of proper EHS supplies including PPE
:

May communicate directly with regulatory agencies

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

Requires one of the following:

Bachelors degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or other science field or;
:

Associate degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or other science field with two (2) years of related experience or;
:

High School diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of related experience
:

Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures
:

Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job:related processes
:

Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on:going communications about safety and quality issues
:

Strong written communication skills demonstrating the ability to prepare outlines, reports, letters, and any other supplemental materials in a clear and concise manner
:

Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

:

Experience in handling compliance issues, OSHA/EPA programs, regulatory reviews, permit preparation, reporting and record keeping
:

Experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and NFPA, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, BOMA and BOCA standards
:

Experience with Federal, State and local Workers Compensation law and prior experience establishing proactive Ergonomics Program
:

Experience in a manufacturing environment
:

Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and packaging industrial experience
:

Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification
