Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Director/Sr. Director, Access Strategy and Marketing to join our growing Market Access team. The Director/Sr. Director will be responsible for leading efforts to establish and reinforce the value:proposition for Agios drugs across a growing portfolio in oncology and rare genetic diseases. This will involve developing the pre: and post:launch strategy, story, messages and tactics used by the Market Access field team in their interactions with payers and formulary decision:makers. In addition, the Director/Sr. Director will oversee the evolution of reimbursement, financial and educational assistance resources to support providers and patients who utilize the myAgios Patient Support Services program. As Agios expands globally, the Director/Sr. Director will also have coordinating responsibilities with other global market access roles to ensure Agios products are achieving their reimbursement potential.

Reporting to the Vice President, Market Access, the Director/Sr. Director, Access Strategy and Marketing is a key member of the Market Access team and will work closely with Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs HEOR, and Global colleagues to ensure goal alignment and to meet corporate objectives. Strong collaboration, communication, vendor management, clinical understanding, strategy and execution skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Create the brand value story for payors, working with HEOR and the National Account Team
For inline and pipeline drugs across oncology and rare genetic diseases, evaluate payor reaction to disease and product value messages, assess value drivers, and address gaps by generating and shaping appropriate evidence
Prepare National Account Team for strategic payer discussions on product lifecycle issues
Assess payer reaction to BD/licensing candidates (pricing expectations, value drivers, future utilization management intentions)
Influence product development by articulating how a payer may determine future coverage and reimbursement based on a programs clinical trial design, endpoint selection and supporting real world evidence
Gain internal alignment around engagement with groups like ICER
Deliver approved payor resources to the Market Access field team that improve the quality of their interactions with customers and address competition
Evolve the myAgios Patient Support Services program to increase patient and customer awareness and engagement. Integrate program resources with patient and professional portals
Ensure field sales team and medical science liaisons are properly trained on the benefits of the myAgios programs and/or economic resources, like dossiers and BIM models
Co:manage with Market Analytics all payor insight:gathering projects: advisory boards, round tables, and ad hoc market research
Plan and manage payor agency of record activities and budget
Provide payor:related insights to Agios Program Teams in Oncology and Rare Genetic Diseases

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge of US payor coverage and reimbursement environment, CMS policies and OIG opinions pertaining to manufacturer access and product support services
Knowledge of pharmaceutical channel dynamics, including distribution and specialty pharmacy. Knowledge of companion diagnostics is a plus
Ability to translate clinical data into value or economic messages
Strategic planning and execution skills including: branding, project management, pricing/contracting strategy, and working with agencies and vendors
Use insights and innovation to develop and deliver resources in a high impact and cost:effective way
Skilled in completing long:term projects on time and within budget
Able to perform in a fast:paced environment generally under little supervision, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and communicate complex information clearly
Ability to foster relationships, build alignment, negotiate and collaborate with home office and field teams
