Jackson West Medical Center is scheduled to open early 2021 as the first academic medical center in west Miami:Dade and the first built:to:suit campus in Jackson Health Systems century of service to South Florida. Its facility will combine consumer:centered outpatient facilities : including emergency services for adults and kids, a full range of diagnostic and imaging suites, and physician clinics for adult and pediatric specialists : with the latest surgical and inpatient programs at the campus 100:bed Jose Milton Memorial Hospital.

Every aspect of Jackson West is designed around the patient, including easy:to:navigate facilities, passionately engaged caregivers, an academic partnership with the University of Miami Health System, and clinical services tailored to fit nearby communities, including Doral, Sweetwater, and Miami Springs.

Jackson West is hiring a Director of Pharmacy Administration.

The Director of Pharmacy Administration provides leadership for all clinical, operational, and financial affairs of the Pharmacy Department intended to provide for exceptional quality of care and the fulfillment of the organizational mission. The incumbent develops and executes strategic initiatives to achieve goals related to the successful operation of Pharmacy, which are in support of the overall strategic plan of the Jackson Health System (JHS). The Director provides communication and interface throughout the JHS to ensure integration and compliance with all relevant federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Experience: Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is required.
Education: Advanced degree (M.S. in Pharmacy Practice, Pharm. D, or MBA) is required.
Licensure Certification: Valid Florida Pharmacist license (or eligibility) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Management Competencies: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs. Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Unit Specific Competencies: Evidence of team building; experience working in a highly diverse setting; strong clinical customer service focus. Evidence of participation in local, state, and/or national professional pharmacy organizations
