We are currently seeking a Director of Real Estate Development to join the Credit Union. Reporting to the EVP of Finance and Lending, this position is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision of Nusendas real estate plan. This includes responsibility for researching and recommending new locations and owning the acquisition process of approved sites to include negotiating purchases and leases of new property. This position will also manage lease renewals, extensions, and all other real estate development matters in collaboration with the EVP of Finance and Lending and departmental leaders.

Primary Duties:

Conduct market research and analysis. Execute real estate strategy for Nusenda including planning, acquisition, and disposition of properties. Research and prepare recommendations for real estate locations in support of broader organizational expansion efforts. Collaborate with leasing agents, architects, and Nusenda staff in the selection, design, build, and modification of various locations. Responsible for maintaining and analyzing reports to include all areas of responsibility.
Lead negotiation of business terms of real estate documents such as letters of intent, leases, purchase agreements, easements, and covenants. Work with credit union counsel on properly finalizing documents. Oversee negotiations from initial contact through close of escrow or lease execution.
Participates in organizational initiatives/projects as a representative of the department. Serves as a subject matter expert for both departmental and organizational projects following the project management framework.
Represent the organization within the Development community by participating on outside boards and projects that enhance Nusendas standing and impact in the community. Ensure sound working relationships with key vendors, outside services, professional organizations, legal entities, and the general public.
Qualifications:

Five or more years of real estate acquisition and management experience.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field required.
Ability to manage real estate negotiations and government approvals for construction projects.
Must have in:depth understanding of commercial property/leasing/real estate laws and regulations.
Strong ability to develop and communicate compelling location and design recommendations.
Exceptional verbal, written and facilitation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including excel and experience with various systems.
