Job Summary The Director of Nursing is a key member of the MedStarHealth Division of Nursing's leadership team.
This role oversees one or more units/departments of organized nursing and patient care services, creating a practice environment that exemplifies the values of patient care.
The Director promotes a patient-first nursing care delivery system, acts as a professional role model, and supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy, and values of the Division of Nursing and MedStar Health.
The Director facilitates the cost-effective utilization of human, material, and financial resources, ensuring high-quality care that aligns with established nursing standards for the patient populations served.
This role assumes 24-hour administrative and leadership authority over the management and direction of operational, personnel, and financial activities within the assigned units/departments.
The Director coordinates activities with nursing leadership, Medical Staff, and other department leaders, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational missions and values.
