DWC seeks a full-time Director – Data and Analytics to support DWC's data-driven approach to ending homelessness.
The Director of Data & Analytics will play a lead role in guiding the organization's data-driven decision-making.
This position will lead the development and implementation of data strategies to improve program effectiveness, enhance service delivery, demonstrate our impact, and advance our mission to end homelessness for women and gender diverse individuals.
The Data Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the organization's data strategy and operations.
This position reports to the Chief Program Officer.
Essential FunctionsDevelop and oversee the organization's data strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and program priorities.Establish and maintain robust data collection, management, and quality assurance processes.Design and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.Lead the development and maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata.Stay abreast of best practices in data analysis, data science, and homelessness research.Explore and implement innovative data-driven solutions to address homelessness challenges.Conduct or collaborate on research projects to expand the organization's knowledge base and inform program development.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data and quality assurance specialists and Measurement and Evaluation Manager.Foster a data-driven culture within the organization.Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with program staff, leadership, and external partners.Oversight of agency databases and funder databases utilized by the agency (i.e.
HMIS, CHAMP) and ensure all programs staff who utilize these databases are trained and equipped.Oversee external relationships with funder database leads to ensure the submission of timely reporting and compliance.Collaborate with Communications and Development Department to uplift data into impactful stories for internal/external communications and fundraising opportunities.Equip the leadership team with one-pagers, briefs, graphics, etc., to share data-informed stories for greater impact on a standardized and regular basis.Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.Required Knowledge/Skills/Position QualificationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS).Experience with homelessness data systems (e.g., HMIS).Strong knowledge of Excel.Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government funding/grants and contracts preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Passion for ending homelessness and a commitment to social justice.Experience working with homeless populations and understanding of the complexities of homelessness.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Cultural humility.Must be a CA resident and live no more than 80 miles from DWC; must be available for in-person meetings at DWC.Must provide documentation of a negative TB test result within the last twelve months, on first day of hire.You will be required to be up to date on your vaccinations against COVID-19 and provide documentation.Pay Range$90,000-$100,000/yr
