Veo is building a safety-critical system leveraging advanced computer vision, robotics, and 3D sensing that will transform manufacturing. Our products need to comply with strict regulations for safety in industrial environments, and our advanced software is breaking new ground in safety-critical functionality. We need someone well-versed in ensuring regulatory compliance from design through production who can balance that with the flexibility and creativity to find ways to map regulatory requirements to a startup's cutting-edge technology development.
You will:
Work closely with engineering teams to facilitate the creation of system and subsystem requirements and associated design documentation to ensure rigor, traceability, and testability
Lead cross-functional teams in the development and maintenance of risk assessment activities such as Hazard Analysis and FMEA.
Represent compliance at concept reviews and design reviews to inform design decisions as related to regulations and testing
Review test cases and testing protocols to ensure traceability and coverage to requirements according to risk-based testing
Evaluate product revisions for impact to current or planned certification approvals
Guide engineering teams by evaluating and improving product development processes to ensure compliance with product regulations and safety certification requirements

You are:
A design assurance, requirements, or systems engineer with 3+ years experience who has built complex, innovative hardware/software products in a standards-driven environment, from concept through production
Deeply knowledgeable about the product development lifecycle, preferably from prior experience as a hands-on engineer
Experienced with requirements definition and management for performance, standards compliance, traceability, and testing, particularly within regulated environments such as functional safety/ISO 13849/IEC 61508, IEC 26262, medical devices/ISO 13485, or DO-178C/DO-254
Familiar with requirements management tools such as JAMA, Helix, or DOORS
An effective communicator who can easily translate between qualitative and quantitative specifications and requirements
An enthusiastic self-starter who can help Veo build its design assurance tools and processes and work to scale them appropriately as the company grows

Bonus points:
You have experience with 3D sensors, computer vision, and/or robotics
Experience developing verification & validation testing protocols, execution of testing protocols.
