This job is advertised in four separate counties at the following locations: Elk Grove, Santa Ana, Rancho Cucamonga, and Diamond Bar.
This position is telework-centered with in-person attendance required at the Region Institutions and the Regional Office based on operational needs and training requirements.

This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales.
The authorized HAM rate for this classification is P $29,378 - Q $30,229.Under the direction of the Chief of Telepsychiatry, and senior supervising psychiatrist, the Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for direct provision of psychiatric services to patients in person or via telepresence.
This includes evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the general population and the mental health services delivery system in various settings.
Opportunities to telework within California may be available for employees after the onboarding period who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely.
If there are technological issues or performance concerns, telepsychiatrists may still be asked to work from the hub.
They may also work from the hub if that is their preference or if they do not have a confidential space or adequate bandwidth at home to support teleconferencing.
Our hubs are in Elk Grove, Diamond Bar, Santa Ana, and Rancho Cucamonga.
