RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an automotive client that is looking for a Customer Literature Technical Writer for a long-term, renewable contract in Warren, MI. This position will start as a remote position and at 32 hours per week. It will later move to 40 hours and onsite, when deemed safe.
Description:
* Develop and author customer literature (owner?s manual) information according to company's writing style guidelines
* Author customer literature content in global authoring database
* Research assigned vehicle content, using all available platform information, including plan books (PPC), Engineering Change Request/Decision Notices (CR/DNs), mock-up room vehicles, Engineering meetings and interaction with Engineering and Marketing teams
* Work with Product Engineering, to ensure vehicle feature text is accurate and complete
* Work with CL (Customer Literature) Safety, Legal, and Regulatory Coordinator to identify required safety, legal and regulatory text
* Work with CL Proofer/Editor to ensure that text meets requirements of Global and GMNA Writing Style guidelines
* Perform data coordination authoring and translation teamwork activities
* Perform on-vehicle validations to confirm correct vehicle content within the owner's manual
* Review validation findings with CL team members and Engineering when text issues arise
* Maintain records of reviews and discussions with engineering or other personnel per ILM record retention policy and make this information accessible
* Complete all assigned work according to established production schedule
* Maintain documentation per ILM record retention policy; This includes, but is not limited to, emails, validation documentation, record of approved content for inputting into GSA, Engineering/regional contact markup feedback
* Complete all assigned work according to established production schedule
* Complete all assigned work observing all established Customer Literature Team processes
REQUIREMENTS:
* Automotive customer literature authoring experience (3-5 years minimum) or equivalent experience
* Proficient with use of MS Excel, MS Word and Arbortext
* Technical writing experience
* Good organizational skills
* Good time management skills
* Ability to clearly communicate ? both orally and written
* Good interpersonal skills and can work well with others
* Ability to work in a production-based environment with adherence to strict delivery schedule timing
Preferred:
* 4-year degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
* Proficient with use of Global Service Authoring database
* Familiar with SharePoint
* Proficient with use of PDF-XChange
